Overview
The Sullair solenoid valve is the core component of the air control circuit. Its main function is to control the coordinated work of different pneumatic components by changing the flow path of the control gas to achieve the overall goal of pneumatic control of the air compressor. Sullair solenoid valves are generally 3-way. When working, they connect the circuit from the gas tank to the pneumatic components, and the pressure gas control components act; when not working, they cut off the power circuit and exhaust the remaining pressure gas in the pneumatic components to the atmosphere. Solenoid valve is one of the indispensable air compressor accessories in air compressor pneumatic control.
Working Status of Sullair Solenoid Valve in instrument Monitor Model
The control system can adjust the compressor intake air volume according to the required compressed air volume. When the pipeline pressure exceeds the loading pressure by about 10 psig (0.7 bar), the unit is vented and unloaded under the action of the control system, which can greatly reduce energy consumption. The control system includes an intake valve (located at the compressed air inlet), Sullair solenoid valve, pressure regulating switch and pressure regulator. The following describes the function of the Sullair solenoid valve in the control system through the “normal operation” state of the Sullair screw compressor.
Normal operation-50 to 115 psig (3.5 to 8 bar)
When the system pressure exceeds 50 psig (3.5bar), the minimum pressure valve opens and compressed air enters the air supply pipe. Since then, the pipeline pressure is monitored by the pressure regulator switch (usually set to 125 psig 8.6bar and the pipeline pressure gauge. In this state, the pressure regulator and the Sullair solenoid valve are closed, the intake valve does not operate, and it is always fully open. Status. Until the compressor pressure reaches 115 psig (8 bar).
Possible failures and troubleshooting methods of Sullair screw compressors
Symptoms: Exhaust pressure (tank pressure) P1 is too high; pipeline pressure is higher than the set value of unloading pressure.
Possible reasons: solenoid valve failure loading and unloading issue
Remedy: check the solenoid valve; check the operation of the solenoid valve
Maintenance of Sullair solenoid valve
The solenoid valve requires very little maintenance, but can be cleaned regularly. Generally speaking, if the working voltage is suitable, the valve needs to be cleaned when the valve moves slowly or there is a large amount of leakage. Disconnect the power supply before repairing, release all pressure, and disconnect the solenoid valve coil connector. It is not necessary to remove the valve during maintenance. If you need to replace parts, please follow the steps below:
- 1. Disconnect the connector on the solenoid valve coil;
- 2. Remove the fixing nut and take out the electromagnetic coil;
- 3. Unscrew the screws on the valve body, remove the valve core, valve core spring and sealing ring;
- 4. Unscrew the bottom cover, take out the sealing ring, spring and valve needle;
- 5. Clean all parts;
- 6. Replace the coil or spool;
- 7. Reassemble the solenoid valve.
